Music One iPhone App | Update

The amazing Music One iPhone app was released back in April and Developer BOBBY WALLACE has been hard at work programming some new features and bug fixes which we're hoping to bring to you very soon.

Here's what we've been working on

Bug Fixes

1) STREAM STABILITY: The app currently has difficulty reconnecting to the stream when travelling through difficult service areas. The next release of the software remedies these frustrating reconnect issues. We've also made vast improvements to the app when switching between cellular data networks and WIFI networks; the next release of the app switches networks with ease.

2) Application Crashes: We've noticed a few situations where the app would crash consistently. One of which was when receiving a text message the app would crash if you read it whilst listening. This (and others) have been fixed for the next application release.

New Features

1) Background Playing: Yes, we've been listening to you! For those of you who have upgraded your iPhone to iOS4, the next major release of the Music One iPhone application will support background listening.

2) Upgrading the streat: We've upgraded the 32k aac+ strean to a 48k aac+ stream. This small increase in bandwidth vastly increases the sound quality on the go. This stream will be the default selection for the next version of the app and will be very useful for those in areas without reliable 3G coverage, 48k works REALLY well on edge networks. For those with great 3G service or on WIFI networks, you can still easily select this stream from the options page (the 'i' menu).

2) In-Dock Locking: You can now tell the application to not lock when it's in the dock. You're still able to quickly glance at the app from your desk to see what's playing and to one-touch-vote for the tracks as you hear them.

3) iPad Support: The Music One app currently works great on the iPad. We're upgrading the graphics for the iPad so when you view it at full screen the Music One design really sparkles.
